Booked this to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. It was our first cruise experience on P&O Iona and we loved it. We chose a larger balcony cabin on deck 15 which was fab as the weather was unusually mild and sunny for the beginning of November. Staff are amazing and the food and choice of bars and restaurants was excellent. It was better than we could have imagined. Highly recommend it and would definitely do it again.
Overall, we had a lovely time happy children and no cooking or cleaning for two weeks will always be a winner!
We were disappointed that there was nothing to mark the fact that it was our honeymoon despite our efforts to communicate this in advance.
The ship was at full capacity and felt in places too busy and overrun with male yob-like youths.
We felt that from experience, the larger the ship, the worse the food.
The on-board temperature was far too cold next time I will take warm trousers, hoodies, gilets and even a hat meals were spoilt by sitting and shivering.
Generally, port stops were too short it would have been nice to have at least one overnight stop so a full night could be enjoyed other than onboard.
We would rather not travel at peak season as it was so busy (on land as well as onboard) but with children and as a teacher, sadly this is not possible.
We would travel with P&O again, will just pack for summer AND winter!

It was so relaxing being away for 19days
brilliant
Fjords was an amazing adventure
First cruise and definitely not my last
From southampton to stravanger and beyond was brilliant as was the Brittania.
A cruise with a group of friends. We were well looked after in the restaurant where we were all seated either together or near each other. Food was however only 3 star albeit nothing actually wrong. Waiting staff good albeit occasionally under pressure.
Cafeteria style breakfast time was something of a jamboree and it paid to get in early. Food tasty and not bad for such a busy cafe. Decor dated.
Cabin was good and had all I wanted. Nicely serviced each day.
Bars a bit of a mix and service at times under pressure. Three star rating overall.
Would I sail with P&O again? A qualified yes: I will next time enquire latest update/refurbishment dates of my short list ships.
This cruise was the relocation cruise from Southampton to Barbados. It included only 5 port stops, so we had a lot of sea days, including 6 consecutive days. I like the sea days as you are forced to relax, especially if you don't buy the internet access package. The crew provide a good range of activities and entertainment to keep you busy. We did at least 3 quizzes a day, but plenty of other options were available. I'm not into the black tie nights, of which we had 4, but we simply ate at the buffet on those nights to avoid the need to dress up. The staff were excellent, especially considering that some were in training. We met some lovely people - and some we would prefer not to meet again! The ship is big enough to find like-minded passengers and avoid those with other interests. The food was average - there was a huge choice, especially in the buffet, but it was basically the same huge choice every day and a little more variety would be good.
